Swiss Steak 


Ingredients:

- 2 pounds boneless beef round steak
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup thinly sliced celery
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
- 1 medium green pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 can (10¾ ounces) condensed tomato soup
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Servings:
- Makes 6 to 8 servings

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Steak

   - Trim the round steak and pound it well to tenderize.
   - Cut the steak into 6 to 8 pieces.
   - In a small bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper.
   - Coat the beef pieces with the flour mixture.
   - Place the coated meat and any remaining flour mixture in a rectangular baking dish (12 x 8 inches) or a 10-inch square casserole.

2. Cook the Vegetables

   - In a small bowl, combine the celery, onion, and green pepper.
   - Microwave at HIGH (100% power) until the vegetables are tender, about 3 to 5 minutes.
   - Mix the cooked vegetables with the condensed tomato soup, water, and Worcestershire sauce.
   - Pour this mixture over the beef in the baking dish.

3. Cook the Dish
   - Cover the dish and microwave at HIGH (100% power) for 5 minutes.
   - Reduce the power to MEDIUM (50%).
   - Continue microwaving until the beef is tender, about 40 to 50 minutes. Rearrange the pieces halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.

 Notes:
